Dr Nadia Boscaglia is a clinical psychologist and somatic sexologist with over 20 years’ experience as a practitioner. She has expertise in perimenopausal and menopausal depression, premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), and the psychological changes that emerge during midlife. She works extensively with sexual concerns in women, including lowered libido, changes in arousal and orgasm, and sexual avoidance and shame. Nadia also has a longstanding interest in eating disorders, obsessive–compulsive disorder, anxiety, and mood disorders.

Her approach integrates evidence-based therapies including ACT, CBT, EMDR and Schema Therapy. She is practical, direct, and warm, and believes that serious clinical work does not require solemnity at all times.

Nadia’s professional focus is helping women develop psychological equanimity, greater self-trust, and a more harmonious relationship with their bodies, eating, sexuality, and sense of self, particularly during periods of transition that can feel destabilising.

She has published research on body image during pregnancy, and mood disorders in the context of gynaecological cancers, and provides training to other health professionals on recognising and responding to mental health concerns during perimenopause and menopause.

Nadia has completed formal training with the Institute of Somatic Sexology and is a member of the Somatic Sex Educators’ Association of Australasia. This additional training informs her work with women seeking to reconnect with desire, improve sexual function, and expand intimacy in ways that are grounded and evidence-informed.

Nadia holds a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, which is the highest level of clinical psychology training in Australia, and is registered with the Psychology Board of Australia with endorsement in Clinical Psychology. She is a Board Approved Supervisor and has lectured and supervised advanced Clinical Psychology trainees across multiple Australian universities.
